Do you adore Burger? Ever used beets in a burger patty? No? No it’s time. I promise you. This will be one of your favorite burger you ever ate.
Prepare beetroot patties, tzatziki and sliced avocado. Staple all together on a whole meal toastie. Ready to eat!

Are you understand my view? I’m sure lots of food blogger know what I mean. I was so proud to get this shot and he didn’t understand why (but want to eat it as soon as I allowed it).
Burger Love – Be happy with what you eat
I’m really not the perfect healthy eater as it seems sometimes. Sure, I love to eat healthy but I’m also a big gourmet. So first I ask myself if this meal I want to cook taste good. The best way to eat healthy without missing ingredients you love is to replace a few ingredients and not all. This Burger is healthy for me because I use healthy chickpeas with high quality protein and beets. The toasty isn’t completely healthy because it contains wheat flour which isn’t really healthy when you ask a nutrition expert. But I’m not one and I want to enjoy my Burger with this special toasty because I love it!
As you can see on my Instagram feed I recommend a few cookbooks from amazing blogger. I see a big hype for cookbooks at the moment. Don’t know when to cook all these amazing recipes. But I’m really happy to support these lovely souls who invested so many hours in writing their books. For example two of my absolutely favorites at the moment!
- make 12 patties
- 400 g canned chickpeas
- 2 red beets, grated
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 onions
- 2 garlic gloves
- salt and pepper
- 2 tsp tamari soy sauce
- 50g chopped dill
- For the Tzatziki
- Find a vegan version here: Sunflower Seed Tzatziki
- 250ml yoghurt (I use greek yoghurt)
- 1 cucumber, peeled, deseeded and grated
- 20g chopped dill
- 1 garlic glove
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 Avocado, sliced
- 12 Toasties
- Preheat the oven 175 degrees
- Line a baking tray with baking paper, lightly brush with olive oil
- Mash the chickpeas (don't mash them completely)
- Fry onions and garlic for a few minutes until browning
- Stir in the beetroots and fry on low heat for 5 minutes
- Add tamari, dill, salt and pepper and set aside.
- Shape mixture into 12 cakes and set on baking tray
- Brush with olive oil
- Bake for 25-30 minutes
- Mix all ingredients for the tzatziki.
- Grill the toasties and staple the patty, avocado slices and tzatziki.
