Blueberry amaranth smoothie

Amaranth is a very rich source of protein and this protein is also highly bioavailable. Amaranth may boost immune function according to some studies, probably thanks to the potent vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Blueberries contain tons of vitamin E and vitamin C; one serving gives you almost 25 percent of your daily value of vitamin C. Vitamin C is very good for your immune system and skin. Also blueberries contain antioxidants which work to neutralize free radicals.

Spirulina smoothie bowl with greens

How amazing to add every day different superfoods in your breakfast! Love that so much. I tried out different superfoods and I felt totally in love with spirulina, this blue-green microscopic plant which is full packed with protein (60-70%) and 18 amino acids. Spirulina includes all essential amino acids! When you add it in your smoothies or smoothie bowl you will get such a crazy mint color – so cool!

When you don’t have spirulina or you don’t want to buy it that fast you can also use lots of greens in your smoothie. Green smoothies are such amazing to eat your greens without even realizing it. Because they’re already blended and liquefied, smoothies are quicker to digest. Your body no longer needs to work so hard to “break down” the food in order to extract the nutrients.

Guest Recipe: Caramel Apple Pie Smoothie

Tiina_myberryforest22

As some of you know I am very active on Instagram. Here I share my favorite pictures and food creations. It is the best community to share each others healthy food experiences and get new and special inspirations every day. I met already so many lovely people there from all over the world. One of them is Tiina a mum of 2 Kids (4 years and 2 years old) from Finnland. She is also a totally healthy food lover and she loves creating healthy vegan food & food photography. She worked in media & advertising for over 10 years. You can see her creativity in her pictures and recipe creations. I love her input so much and be happy about every single post from her. If are also on Instagram you need to check her account asap #myberryforest. With her consent I love to share her recipe creation of an CARAMEL APPLE PIE SMOOTHIE.

In the original recipe Tiina use only 1/4 cup of cashew and 1/4 cup of apple sauce. And she makes some raw pekan bites for this smoothie. You find the recipe for the bites on her instagram account #myberryforest.

The list of health benefits of apples are very long. You find a lot of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. A lot of minerals like potassium, copper, manganese, and magnesium helps your body to regenerate and feel healthy. Apples also helps to  detoxifying the body in a healthy way. You find also healthy cashews in that smoothie. They are full of healthy fatty acids and have less calories than other nuts (still enough but less). Cashew gives smoothies an unbelievable creamy consistence. Add a pinch of apple vinegar to make the nuts more digestible.

Tiina and I often use organicburst products. This company sell healthy organic superfood products like maca, Acai, chlorella, spirulina and baobab. We use Baobab in this smoothie. Baobab gives your immune system support with the natural Vitamin C in Organic Burst Baobab. Plus Organic Baobab’s natural Vitamin C is non-acidifying, unlike synthetic Vitamin C. If you’ve been eating out or drinking too much coffee, cola or alcohol maintain the best alkaline balance for your body with Organic Burst Baobab! I tried some other superfood products from other companies but the quality was not that good like the quality from the organic burst products.

Creamy Lingonberry Raspberry Smoothie

I like to share my favorite superfoods and healthy food products with you. I already checked out some products from different brands and companies and one of the most lovely companies I met is arcticpowerberries.

This young company sell real, nutrient-dense foods that make you healthy and happy. Anna and Eveliina are two beautiful girls, full of life and full of enthusiasm for their business. Both enjoy having a healthy balance in life in general. Eve is a specialist in fashion marketing and freelance styling, while Anna’s is in sports therapy and massage. These beautiful girls grew up by the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, picking berries from the backyard and eating them out of the freezer all year around. And when they lived abroad they have always missed the taste of wild berries from back home.

They said “The farmed berries from local supermarkets do not taste the same at all, fresh berries go off really quickly and frozen berries are often either too expensive or not always available. That is why in the beginning it felt natural to always throw half a year’s supply of Finnish berry powders into our suitcases on each trip to London. After making the berries travel with us for over three years, we started questioning why we couldn’t share them with other people too. We were sure that at least some people would love them as much as we did.” So the idea for arcticpowerberries was born and now they are running a Company with lots of healthy and special berry products like Cranberry Powder, Blackcurrant Powder, Lingonberry Powder, Blueberry Powder and Seabuckthorn Poweder. The products will be shipped in bundles and oversea if you are not located in Finnland. Find more information about the health benefits on their lovely Homepage.

I used Lingonberry in my Creamy Lingonberry Raspberry Smoothie. The Scandinavians are crazy over this berry! Here are some health benefits:

Creamy Kale Detox Smoothie

I bought a Vitamix 3 month ago because I can’t mixed up kale very creamy for my Creamy Kale Detox Smoothie. And I like to add kale in my smoothie because kale is one of the most healthy food on the planet. Kale is pure detox food and great for detoxifying your body. But there were so many other recipes I need to try out that I forgot to mix up a kale smoothie. My kitchen looks like a recipe store for sure because I make a note wherever I get an inspiration from other recipe developers, magazines or cookbooks. It’s really hard to have less time to cook all these beautiful meals when you see your idea at every time. But life is long right? I am 34 now so I think I have a loooooot of time to cook and get creative in my kitchen.

Kale is much higher in vitamin C than most other vegetables, containing about 4.5 times much as spinach and Kale is very high in beta carotene, an antioxidant that the body can turn into vitamin A. You can use kale simply in your kitchen by adding it to your smoothies in order to boost the nutritional value.

I often use buckwheat in my breakfast instead of oats because buckwheat is the best source of high-quality, easily digestible proteins. To make it more digestible you can add half a teaspoon of apple vinegar.

Because of the high speed of my blender it is important to add frozen fruits to my smoothie to get a fresh and not a warm smoothie. For that reason I freeze my bananas regularly in small pieces. It is the perfect tip to store ripe banana the whole time.

This smoothie is really full packed of high nutritious food and to give him the last boost I add a teaspoon matcha powder. Matcha is a very rich superfood, it’s just 100% pure green tea leaves stone ground into a fine powder. If you like to get more information, check out matchamaiden.

I also love to top my smoothie with Lingonberry Powder. The Scandinavians are crazy over this berry! You find more information on: arcticpower.

Cherry Red Beet Porridge

5 portions vegetables and fruits are the best to provide your body with all he need for a strong healthiness. I start to work with these rates a few years ago and optimized my vegetable consumption a lot and the results are amazing! Smoothies are such a great way to integrate more veggies! I feel really better since I changed my diet and I meet a lot of people who have a lot afflictions like flatulence or stomachache. I am really sure they could avoid many of these afflictions by changing their diet.

When I was a child I ate so many sweets and fast food, drank a lot of cola and my dietary habits were so confused. That was the reason why I was ill every week and looked like a ghost. My skin wasn’t healthy and my hair really dry. I don’t slept well and I can’t concentrate myself very good. Everybody needs to make his own experiences to realize what’s good for him and what not. The most important thing is to hear to the own body, he tell us what he need.

I like to talk more about my lifestyle and how I changed my lifestyle in the last years. I will let you know what I’m doing to feel better.

But first I like to share this creamy red beet recipe with you and inform you about the health benefit. I don’t like a water consistency in my smoothies so I add soaked nuts, oats or yoghurt to make it more creamy. My smoothies are often my breakfast, it need to keeps me full until lunch time.

I really use a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables but sometimes I haven’t something at home or the things I need haven’t season. That’s the time I use pulverized versions like red beet powder. In that way I don’t need to miss the health benefits of the amazing vegetables and fruits. Most of the time vegetables.

Red beet is one of the healthiest food in the world! Beets are a unique source of phytonutrients called betanin. Betanin is antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying.
Full packed with vitamins like vitamin B1, B2 and B6 as well as vitamin C red beet is a perfect source for pure healthiness.

Nothing artificial, no added sugar, no additives, no harmful preservatives, no fillers and no bullshit. Specifically formulated for quick post-workout recovery!

I really love that healthy combination from hemp protein, brown rice protein, raw cacao, maca root, wild cranberries and baobab fruit. The flavor is really delicious, the taste is only a pinch of choclate and maca. Hemp protein contains all essential amio acids and hemp protein is similar to your Body Protein. Because of this your body can easy absorb the hemp protein.

Workout blend is a energizing superfood blend designed to support your body after physical activity. It helps your body with recovery, boosts energy, fight fatigue and promotes lean muscle gain. It’s formulated to make your workout more efficient. I combine this blend with carrots to reach one portion of the 3 recommended vegetables a day and soaked cashew nuts for extra creaminess. I love adding different ingredients in a smoothie to get different healthy nutrients. You can easily chop the carrot when your blender isn’t strong enough.
I often used frozen banana because I freeze them when they are ripe. You can easily peel them and freeze in small pieces and use them whenever you want.

Protect Skin Raspberry Smoothie

Doesn’t sound that perfect? Protect Skin Raspberry Smoothie? A perfect smoothie after your workout which contains tons of healthy Skin benefits.

We want it all! Perfect shine and soft skin, right? But how can we get it? Beside the right care we can help our skin to be healthy with the right diet and food. I called this smoothie Protect Skin Raspberry Smoothie because of the coconut milk and superfood blend I use. Coconut milk has skin-nourishing properties because of its Vitamin-E. This Vitamin is very important and helpful for healthy skin growth and repair. Above all, it prevents premature aging of the skin, since it has good antioxidant properties.

Make sure you use organic coconut milk for your smoothie without any additional additives. You often find hidden additives which are non-healthy for you.

To eat hemp seeds– which you can find in the “Balance Superfood Blend” from boostyourself you find in this smoothie (if you like to add it) is also e great opportunity to get better skin. Hemp seeds contains high quality oils like omega-6 fatty acids which increases the elasticity of your skin and brings new life to dry and tired skin. I love to use superfoods with lots of health benefits. Sometimes I use the separate superfoods but sometimes I love to have a mix on hand so I don’t need to mix them up by myself. You know the situation that you need to hurry up and need to mix up a smoothie fast without thinking too much what to add exactly to make it more healthy. That’s the reason why superfood blends exists – to make your life more easy LOL.

I use dates in all my smoothies as a natural sweetener. Normally 2 are enough to get a sweet taste but you can you use more when you like it more sweet. When you read the recipe you may first thing “salt?” Why is the adding salt into a smoothie? Salt is a great way to anhance the flavor of all the other ingredients. Adding salt to foods helps certain molecules in those foods more easily release. I tried it out with and without salt. And it really works!

Green Antioxidant Smoothie-Bowl

Always when I see green Bowls I decided to eat more greens. This delicious Green Antioxidant Smoothie-Bowl is a new start for me to eat more green during the week. My hubby always say he don’t like to eat this “Hulk” bowl because of the color? Hey Man! What’s wrong with that color? Green stays for live, for freshness, for healthiness. I love to look at my bowl and I really get mouthwatering. Because I always mix up sweet fruits and healthy greens my green bowls become a sweet flavor and they are really delicious. You can easily hide greens in every smoothie you drink and you will not taste it when you don’t add too much. But you will get the healthy benefit.

In the spring and summer time it is so easy to get into the garden or wherever you want outside and pick up some dandelion. Enible wild herbs can be used very easily in your smoothie. Enible wild herbs have very special health benefits you don’t find in any other green. Dandelion is great to get B complex vitamins, trace minerals, organic sodium, and even some vitamin D too. We often have Vitamin-D shortage because we are not outside enough to get Vitamin-D from the sun and there are less food ingredients contains Vitamin-D. Dandelion also contains protein, more than spinach. It has been eaten for thousands of years as a food and was used for skin problems, blood disorders and depression. You can use dandelion optional in this bowl if you like to try it out but also eat the bowl without.

Furthermore I add some spinach leaves, because Spinach is one of my favorite greens to add into a smoothie bowl because the taste is not that strong it almost every mixer can mix it. You can use frozen or fresh spinach. Spinach is an excellent source of vitamins like Vitamin-K or Vitamin-A. Vitamin K is very important for maintaining bone health and it is difficult to find vegetables which are richer in vitamin K than spinach.

As you know I love to add superfoods in my smoothie bowls. So I pimp up my smoothie with more green healthiness I use “Detox Blend” from boostyourself. Detox is a powerful superfood blend designed to give your body the perfect combination of nature’s most nourishing, cleansing and potent superfoods. Great for healthy weight loss and rich in essential nutrients and vitamins. This is a super-easy way to supercharge your health. You find the following superfoods in this blend: camu-camu, spirulina, chlorella, wheatgrass and barley grass. High concentrations of living chlorophyll, vitamin C and plant-based protein helping to boost your natural metabolism and to aid weight loss, while cleansing your body of toxins and providing a vast array of vital vitamins, minerals & important antioxidants.

I use dates in all my smoothies as a natural sweetener. Normally 2 are enough to get a sweet taste but you can you use more when you like it more sweet. The banana also gives a natural sweetness. Ripe banana are the really best to add in a smoothie.

Recipe
Green Antioxidant Smoothie-Bowl

250ml almond milk
