Chocolate with a good conscience from Lovechoc
I go to the organic store nearly every week to buy some dairy products or organic basics. I regularly see the products from Lovechock in these beautiful packages. I was impressed by the ingredients raw chocolate and superfoods. But to make sure I buy good chocolate products I inform myself about this Company.
As you already read I don’t want to support the “normal” chocolate industry and longer because chocolate is made with child hands and under slavery Terms.
I found out that Lovechock is organic raw chocolate (raw cacao), is suitable for a vegan diet, is environmentally friendly, contains flavonoids, is dairy free, soy free and gluten free, contains no refined sugars, is sweetened with coconut blossom sugar and can contain traces of nuts.
Lovechock’s carefully selected cacao suppliers work directly with small farmers, without any middle men. In this way we can guarantee that each of the farmers involved receives a fair wage and is treated respectfully. Lovechock pays well above market prices to ensure that farmers are fairly rewarded for their hard work.
The product from Lovechock are made with raw cacao and superfoods like inkaberries, goji berries, maca and some others. When you like to get more informations about the superfoods they use have a look here: Superfoods
Producing good chocolate from honest ingredients is a meticulous and complex process which demands passion and dedication. Since 2011, Lovechock’s chocolate bars have been produced in a sheltered workshop. A sheltered workshop is a place where people with a handicap (psychological, mental or physical) can work under supervision. This increases their chances on the labour market. The sheltered workshop in Leiden, the Netherlands, is specialized in food processing and is the only sheltered workshop to be able to boast a professional chocolaterie. And Lovechock is made there! Under the inspirational guidance of our chocolate alchemist, Laura de Nooijer, Lovechock has developed a streamlined production process together with the Leiden employees and its internal chocolatier.
The people in the Leiden sheltered workshop chocolaterie are well aware that they are involved with the making of a very special product. They are experienced in chocolate making. The preparation and weighing of the spices, fruit and nuts which go into the chocolate is all done by hand. The workers can do much more themselves in the Lovechock process and so can learn more about the craft of chocolate making. Lovechock believes in the talent and capacity of each individual.
